Greg Magnus, an insurance producer with E. R. Munro and Company, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, will lecture on auctioneer bonds and insurance at the Reading Area Community College, Tuesday, April 29.
Magnus will discuss general liability, consignment coverage, business auto insurance, errors and omissions, workers compensation and provide examples from real auctioneer insurance claims.
“I’ll also discuss the state requirements for the auctioneer bond so the program participants can obtain their auctioneer license,” said Magnus. “It’s important for auctioneers to be aware of how insurance should factor into their overall business plan.”
His lecture is part of the college’s Auctioneering Certification Program, which has been designed to provide knowledge of techniques, procedures and principles of communication, appraisal, management, marketing and law necessary to pass the Auctioneer Licensing Exam.
Reading Area Community College’s auctioneering program is offered through the non-credit area of the college and the credits received are Auction Board-approved credits and not college credits.
