How to lower the cost of your teen’s car insurance

By December 5, 2014Tips

Give yourself the gift of saving money by following these tips to lower the cost of your teenager’s car insurance:

  • Enroll your teenager in a driver’s education course.
  • Make sure your teens do their homework to qualify for what’s called a “good student discount” – a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  • Add your teenager to your existing auto insurance policy. You just might get a further discount.
  • Adjust your insurance policy to a higher deductible. This will help lower your monthly car insurance payment.
  • Pick the right type of car for your teenager to drive. That means no sports car! Make sure the car has safety features such as ABS and air bags.
  • Do your homework and shop around for the lowest price possible. If the price of the insurance policy seems extremely high, get a second or third quote.
