When parking lots become crowded with people rushing to do their holiday shopping, there are a few steps you can take to avoid dents, dings and other holiday accidents.
- Do not text or talk on the phone while looking for a place to park.
- Start shopping earlier in the season.
- Consider taking time off from work to shop. This tip may not be your employer’s favorite, but if you have vacation time available, it may be beneficial to shop on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to avoid weekend crowds.
- Find more walkable shopping areas. Just watch out for drivers not paying attention to shopping pedestrians.
- Don’t argue over a parking space. It’s not worth the added stress of an argument with another driver who may want the same parking space. Allow the other driver to take the space and look for another.
