E. R. Munro insurance producer, Greg Magnus, was on hand to talk auctioneers insurance during the annual West Virginia Auctioneers Association Conference on Feb. 24 and 25. The conference was held at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke and included seminars, lectures and vendors. Greg said Munro was the only insurance company represented at the conference. Christie King, past president of the National Auctioneers Association; George Michak, an attorney from Pennsylvania; and John Nicholls, current president of the National Auctioneers Association gave lectures on various topics of importance to auctioneers.
“Discussions ranged from increasing the West Virginia auctioneer bond from $10,000 to $20,000; and the problems with online auctions since they don’t need licenses or to be bonded to conduct business,” said Greg.
The conference is a favorite of Greg’s, who said he enjoys “getting to know the auctioneers and their families.”
In addition to the daytime conference activities, Greg said meeting auctioneers afterhours over dinner helps establish trust.
“It’s a great time to meet and get to know the auctioneers one-on-one and really listen to what concerns they have regarding insurance,” Greg added.
