Advancing Technologically

By March 30, 2017News

To learn how to provide clients with an improved technologically advanced experience at E. R. Munro, several key staff members attended the annual NetVU Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, March 23-25.

NetVU stands for Network of Vertafore Users, the insurance software used by independent insurance agents.

“We went to learn how to better serve our clients,” said Munro owner and president, Tod E. Aronson, AAI, CIC, CIPA. Nicholas Niggel, manager of Munro’s IT Department; Stevi Dell, team leader in the Bond Department; and Nadine Weilersbacher, from the Insurance Department, were also on hand to gain valuable information on various software that will enhance Munro’s insurance and bond services.

“We came back with information that will make for a better experience for our customers,” said Aronson. “We plan on implementing some of this technology over the next year.”

The technology Munro is looking to put into service includes the use of electronic signatures on documents; the ability to accept text messaging from the agency’s customers; and the use of a Client Portal which will give customers 24-7 access to their policies and policy information. The Client Portal will also give Munro the ability to deliver policies to customers as a PDF (Portable Document Format) instead of sending them via U.S. Mail.

“This means faster service and allows us and the customer the ability to store their policy and important information electronically instead of paper,” Aronson added. “The Client Portal will give customers access to their insurance ID cards for their vehicles; copies of certificates of insurance for businesses and copies of bonds.”

Aronson admits that executing this technology will take place slowly.

“But it needs to be done to bring us into the 21st Century,” he said.
