The holiday season is such a great time to get together with family and friends. If you are hosting a party this season, take into consideration these safety tips especially if you are serving alcohol.
- Have a designated driver. It’s one of the most effective ways to keep your guests safe on the roads.
- Call a cab, Uber or Lyft driver. If one of your guests has imbibed too much and insists on going home, call a cab, Uber or Lyft driver to take them home.
- Offer plenty of non-alcoholic drinks. Although many guests may want to enjoy a cocktail or two, offer non-alcoholic drinks as an option. There are plenty of fun non-alcoholic drink recipes on the Internet.
- Offer food along with those alcoholic drinks. Drinking on an empty stomach can cause a person to become intoxicated faster. Offering food along with drinks may help prevent guests from over-indulging on alcohol.
- If possible, drivers should try to stay off the roads between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. when drunk driving accidents are most likely, according to research from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Stay safe and enjoy your holidays!
