Winter and Your Insurance

Winter conditions bring entirely different risks that may impact your insurance coverage. Let’s take a look at the top three risks:

  1. Slippery driving – Before the next storm hits, check you automobile policy to determine if its’ appropriate for your needs. Luxury vehicles, new cars and trucks will require a different level of coverage than an older car. Give E. R. Munro and Company a call (877-376-8676) and we can help you to determine if you have adequate protection against injury or damage if you cause an accident.
  2. Snowy problems – If someone slips and falls on your icy driveway or sidewalk, your homeowners policy will pay for some medical expenses. Ask E. R. Munro if you have adequate liability limits. A standard homeowners policy will provide coverage between $100,000 and $500,000. Additionally, if you home sustains damage during a winter storm, a homeowners policy will reimburse you for the costs you incur to live elsewhere if you are unable to reside in your home during repairs. You can always call E. R. Munro to see what exactly your policy covers.
  3. Playing in the snow – Lost or stolen ski equipment that you own is covered by your homeowners or renter’s policy. But snowmobiles are not covered by homeowners, renter’s or auto policies. Ask E. R. Munro if you need more coverage on your sporting equipment or if you need to purchase a separate snowmobile policy.
